Tagbilaran City (28 August) — JUST how does a Boholano imagine peace in the country?

The most revealing image of peace situation captured in the unmistakable eye of the camera from a Boholanos viewpoint may just be a National Peace Consciousness Month highlight for September. This happens as the Government of the Republic of the Philippines-Monitoring Committee (GRP-MC) is coming up with a peace photo gallery, which opens to Bohol photo entries.

Set for launching within September or October of this year, the Visions of Peace photo exhibit attempts to explore peace possibilities here and in the Philippines.

With this, GRP-MC is now inviting students, professionals and photography enthusiasts to submit photo works exploring themes related to peace.

Photo enthusiasts can explore their creative niches in responding to the questions, how do we achieve peace in the Philippines? What is your vision of peace? Where or with what does peace start?

What will make peace possible in the Philippines?

The Visions of Peace Photo Gallery in September also coincides with the United Nation’s International Peace Day on September 21.

Photos may be in size 4 x 5 to 15 x 17 inches, in black and white or colored.

Persons whose works have been selected for exhibition in the GRP-MC peace photo gallery will receive P2T to P5T cash plus certificate.

Those works that have not been selected will receive a special prize token and certificate, says a GRP-MC press advisory.

While the government peace agency asks entries to be accounted not later than September 21, entries must also need to be sent with a paper attachment. The paper attachment should indicate entrant’s name, age, address, school or organization (if any), contact numbers (landline, mobile phone, fax) and the date and place where and when the photo was taken.

Entries must also be accompanied by a brief description of what the photo wants to tell.

Entries must be sent to Photo Contest, GRP-MC Secretariat, 6TH Floor Immaculate Conception Multi-Purpose Building, 41 Lantana Street, Cubao 1111, Quezon City, Philippines

Inquiries could be channeled, or by email to or , or by phone call to (63-2) 725-4621. (PIA)
