Manny Librodo Bags 3rd Place in Digital Camera Photographer of the Year 2006 - Art of Travel
Manny Librodo, renowed Filipino photographer based in Thailand, bags the 3rd place in The Digital Camera Photographer of the Year 2006: Art of Travel.
His winning photo entitled “Road to Nirvana” was taken in Luang Prabang, Laos.

On another note, Marc Aviles, a fellow Filipino photographer based in Singapore, was also recognized for having his photo entitled “The Fisherman” achieve “Commended” status.

Flashback to April 2006.
Manny Librodo and Marc Aviles were both awarded “Highly Commended” status for their photos under the Digital Camera Photographer of the Year 2006: Powerful Portraits category. Manny’s winning entry was “MYSTIC“ while Marc’s winning entry was “Mother and Child“.
Fastforward one month later (May 2006)
Richard Larios, another Filipino bagged the top spot in Digital Camera Photographer of the Year 2006: Dramatic Landscapes category with his “Mangrove tree” photo.
Fastforward to July, 2006
Ruel Tafalia, also another Filipino based in Singapore, was awarded the “Commended” status for his winning photo “High Speed Boat” for the Digital Camera Photographer of the Year 2006: Action & Movement category.
Fastforward to present time.
Watch out for the results of the Black & White Category. Good luck to Manny Librodo, Richard Larios and Phoebe Aviles (Marc’s wife) who have several editor’s choice and reader’s choice photos which got in the Black & White category. Voting will close August 30, 2006. Hopefully another Filipino photographer will bag the top spot.

This definitely is the year for Filipino photographers. Hopefully there will be more Filipino photographers who will be getting the top spots next year.
