Manila Policeman Nabbed for Tabloid Photographer’s Death

A MANILA policeman was arrested Wednesday night for his alleged attempt to kill a tabloid photographer last month, police said on Thursday.
Roger Panizal, photographer for the tabloid Bagong Tikti positively identified Police Officer 1 Ronald Hipolito of Manila police as the man who rode his tricycle in Malabon City and asked to be brought to Valenzuela City where the attempted assassination took place, said Chief Superintendent Leopoldo Bataoil, Northern Police district director.
Bataoil said the suspect, who has been AWOL (absent without leave) since April 2005 was arrested by virtue of a warrant that was issued for another case.
