Photoworks again has a Makati Venue! Photoworks is a brainchild of Leo Castillo based on his studies with the New York Film Academy and the New York Institute of Photography. This is the 26th class, creating more than 500 photographers for 5 years ongoing!

Each Class is limited to 20 slots, your registration will secure one slot for you.

Slots are expected to fill up FAST!  Feel free to pass this around :-)

Advance Photography Seminar by Jo Avila (Wednesdays October 2006)

Advance Photography Seminar (Wednesdays) for October 2006 is as follows:

October 4 – Composition & Lighting
October 11 – Composition & Lighting
October 18 – Composition & Lighting
October 25 – Composition & Lighting

All sessions shall be from 630pm-930pm.

All sessions will begin with case study discussions of certain shooting situations.  All sessions will have a studio shooting session using various light sources and techniques.  It is for this reason that the class is limited to a maximum of eight ( 8 participants only.

Slot reservations are on a first come, first serve basis.

The seminar fee of P4, 500/participant is the total fee for all four sessions and is already inclusive of a certificate of attendance.

All sessions will be held at Unit 114, Gold Building, 15 Annapolis, Greenhills, SJ.

Participants of my past basic photography seminars may attend any session of my upcoming basic photography seminar for free as a refresher course.

October 14 – Composition Techniques
October 21 – Basic Studio Lighting
October 28 – Basic Photoshop
November 4 – Advanced Photoshop and Guerilla Shooting Techniques

All sessions shall be from 2pm-5pm.

There are only fifteen (15) slots available.

The seminar fee of P4, 500/participant is the total fee for all five sessions.  All participants will receive handouts and a certificate of attendance.

All sessions will be held at Unit 114, Gold Building, 15 Annapolis, Greenhills, SJ.

In this exhibit, Jojo Guingona showcases architecture’s many attractions i.e. what makes a building or an architectural space interesting to shoot, why photographers are challenged by the complexities of this field of photography, and why viewers are fascinated by the lines, patterns, and symmetries, either in black and white or color.

The workshop, designed for digital camera users who would like to learn the basics of photography, will cover these topics:

  • Factors affecting photographic output
  • Basic understanding of light
  • The digital camera and its functions
  • Exposure setting
  • How to recognize good pictures
  • How to take better pictures
  • Basic image manipulation and output considerations

To further develop participants’ knowledge, this workshop will include photo assignments, critiquing, and a photo clinic.

This workshop is meant for beginning photographers interested in photographing buildings and other architectural structures using ordinary photo equipment. The lecture, actual shoot, and critical analysis highlight the following subjects:

  • The attractions and challenges of built structures
  • The camera, lens, tripod, and other ideal equipment
  • Preparation for the shoot
    • Choosing the subject and composing it well
    • Researching the location and determining technical settings based on assessment

Subjects:
Entries must portray events/people related to the 2006 Diyandi Festival celebration, but limited to the following categoris/events:

  • Pagpakanaug
  • Sports/Action
  • Novena
  • Fireworks/Night shots
  • Diyandi
  • Kasadya street dancing
  • Procession

Subjects may include participants in these events or the spectators in sidelights.

The contest is open to all photographers covering the 2006 Diyandi Festival activitiesm be they professional or amateur.
Each participating photographer can submit up to a total of 14 pictures. provided that he can submit only a maximum of two photos per category. Entries must fall in any of the categories mentioned above and taken during the 2006 fiesta celebrations.
