The Firefly Brigade invites everyone to join them to an early Earth Day Celebration:

The 9th Tour of the Fireflies
CYCLE: Cycle for Clean Environment

7AM April 15, 2007, Sunday

Starting/Ending Venue:

Tiendesitas, Ortigas Avenue corner E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue (C-5), Pasig City

Pace:

The pace will be a relaxed 13-15 kph. It will be controlled so that the group bikes en masse and even occasional riders, young children, and senior citizens can enjoy the ride.

Possible Photo Op Locations:

Ayala Avenue, Roxas Boulevard, Quirino Grandstand and Welcome Rotonda

Distance and duration:

The 50-kilometer ride will take about 3.5 to 4 hours to complete.
Rest stops:

The ride will make several short stops along the route to enable the caravan to re-group. There will be a major 20-minute stop at the halfway point.
Support and Gear (SAG) van:

A SAG van will trail the peloton. Those who wish to rest, or those unable to continue biking, may ride it.

Requirements:

All participants must sign the waiver and quit claim in the registration form and wear helmets during the ride. Children below 13 years of age old must be accompanied by an adult registered participant.

Registration Details:

Registration fee of P50. Additional P150 for a TOF t-shirt or P300 for a jersey. Participants should use their bike helmets and are encouraged to don colorful, environment- themed costumes. Special awards await ‘Best in Costume’ riders.

There will be a two day On-site Registration at TIENDESITAS on Saturday, April 14, 1:00pm to 6:00pm; and Sunday, April 15, Tour day, at 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
