There are not many Filipino photo blogs around.
And then again why always try to rank them? Just showcase the photo blogs but don’t try to give each site “pogi ” points and rank them. I think it spoils the fun.
Those “BEST list makers” should learn from photoblogs.org

I agree with Sidney, ranking system in this particular case will also hinder individual creativity and propagate the “copycat” mindset. Before you know it, all Pinoy photoblogs will look alike just to attain a high ranking.

Hi Sydney and Eric,
I an way I’d agree with you guys on the ranking system. The system really just ranks a site by its traffic. And having a photo blog with lots of traffic doesn’t make it the best.
I didn’t even register shutter box when the site was launched but Anton, the site owner, gave me a personal invitation to sign up. I was hesitant at first since I wouldn’t really classify shutter box as a photo blog but rather a photo news blog. And so the category photo news blog was added and I placed shutter box under that category.
I’m in favor of this site for cataloging purposes and not really for the ranking. As you said there aren’t many Filipino photo blogs around. So this might just improve awareness and we’ll discover more Filipino photo blogs out there that are noteworthy but just not that famous or accessible.
I believe Anton is open to suggestions on how to improve the system. Let me know what you guys think. We could probably help Anton out on this one

I might have been too harsh on Anton (by the way he has a very nice and informative blog). I was probably in a bad mood…
A complete list of Filipino photo blogs (the ones which are regularly updated) would be very helpful. As I said before I don’t really like the ranking.
As Anton probably knows there is much more Filipino talent on Flickr. Not many people have the time to maintain a photo blog but most have Flickr accounts. To have a full list of those people would be interesting. But then I wouldn’t try to rank them…

My intention for the setting up the list is to gather the best and brightest blogs.. a sort of catalogue of filipino blogs.. since i get a lot of traffic for photos why not share it?

photo.net.ph has been around since 2003 and has built its traffic up.. its all free i havent asked anyone to pay to upload their photos.. its just my own llittle share of giving back…
my dream is to have one place for philippine photos and for people to see the philippines..
Ive been doing this by myself since the start and no one has come out and helped me.. but therr are a lot of people that have come out and criticized what i have been doing..
i dont care..
i just do what i do and try to make a difference..
