The search is on for agriculture journalism’s finest breed - be it in TV, Radio, or Print - with the Philip Morris Bright Leaf Awards.

About the Awards

Philip Morris has been recognizing the world-class talents of the Filipino. With the Philippine Art Awards, the company continues to acknowledge and appreciate the very best of contemporary Filipino artists nationwide.

The Bright Leaf Agriculture Journalism Awards aim to follow on the Art Award’s footsteps by giving due recognition to the very best agricultural journalists in the country.

The time has come for our agricultural journalists to be noticed. The Bright Leaf Agriculture Journalism Awards is here to do that.

Award Categories are as follows:

  • Grand Award - Agriculture Story of the Year
  • Special Award - Tobacco Story of the Year
  • Best Agriculture News Story (National Media)
  • Best Agriculture News Story (Regional Media)
  • Best Agriculture Feature Story (National Media)
  • Best Agriculture Feature Story (Regional Media)
  • Best Agriculture Photo
  • Best Agriculture TV Program/Segment
  • Best Agriculture Radio Program/Segment
  • Contest Guidelines

    The Philip Morris Bright Leaf Awards is open to all professional Filipino Journalists residing in the Philippines, who are 18 years old and above with a passion for excellence in journalism. All entries, either news or feature must focus on topics related to Agriculture in the Philippines.

    Entries can be in English, Filipino or any Philippine dialect, provided that entries using a local dialect must be accompanied by an English translation.

    Entry Requirements for the Photos Category:

    • Fully accomplished entry form
    • One (1) hardcopy entry, 8R in size
    • One (1) softcopy of entry in JPEG format (submitted in a CD or Diskette)
    • One (1) scanned, photocopied or actual copy of published entry. Whole page of the publication where the article was published. This copy will be kept solely by the Secretariat as proof of publication.
    • The contestant’s real name, address, and other personal information must NOT appear on any of the pages of an entry.
