Simbahan Photo Essay Contest

Be it centuries-old or newly-built, reflecting architecture of bygone or modern era, a church is a solid testament of Filipinos’ unwavering Catholic faith and an eternal witness to Catholic couples’ vow of undying love.

Give homage to these ecclesiastical monuments and join Simbahan photo essay contest. Co-presented by Kasal.com and FUJI YKL, the contest is open to all professional and amateur photographers.

Eligibility:

• The contest is open to all professional and amateur Filipino photographers.
• The total number of contestants (not the same as entries) must be a minimum of 15. Should there be less than 15 registered contestants, then, there would be no contest, no winners shall be declared and the prizes shall revert back to the Contest Organizers.
• The contestant can only enter an entry if he/she owns the copyright to the entry or if he/she has written, signed permission from the photo owner or photo subject or model.
• Entries should be exclusive to this Contest and must not have been used as entry to past contests or be used for future contests.

Contest Subjects:

• The theme of the photo essay competition is “Simbahan.” The photos should effectively capture the beauty of Philippine Churches.
• Each entry should consist of at least 3 photos, showing different perspectives of the inner or outer structure of the Church (ie. fa?ade, altar, aisle)
• It should have the Church as the main subject and may or may not include people.

Entries:

• Contestants can enter photos taken through a digital or non-digital camera.
• Each participant can have any number of entries. Prints should be 8 ÿ 10 inches, to be printed on Fujifilm, Fujicolor Crystal Archive Paper, without borders, unmounted. Strictly no manipulation on digital files (no digital enhancements or desktop printouts allowed)
• Original negatives or data files should be submitted together with the entry.
• Photo should have a concept title, name and address of church, complete name, address, contact information, and signature on a piece of paper and the paper should be pasted on the back. It is not allowed to use pseudonym or other identities (existing or fictitious).

How to Join:

• Contestants must submit his/her entry to Kasal.com on or before August 15, 2007.
• Photos will be judged on quality and content of the photo.
• The decision of the Board of Judges of the Photo Contest is FINAL and UNAPPEALABLE.

Awarding:

• Entries will be displayed during Kasalang Filipino roadshow finale and will be featured in Kasal.com Church Gallery Section. Awarding will be done on October 13, 2007 at The Enterprise Center. One winning photo and two runners-up will be chosen.

Kasal.com and FUJI YKL reserve the right to publish or display any entry, winning or non-winning, for promotional purposes, with corresponding acknowledgment to the corresponding photographer.
