A Photography Workshop by Tilak Hettige

Inner Vision is a 3-day workshop for mastering the techniques of creating visually compelling art-like images, using fundamental visual blocks and the different qualities of light.

This is a must for beginners and amateur photographers who want to develop their creativity and go beyond the basics of photography.


About the Lecturer
Tilak Hettige, a product of New England School of Photography in Boston, USA, has worked in the photography industry since 1981. He first won international recognition when he became the
Photographer of the Year in the International Photographic Society, Washington D.C., in 1997. In addition to garnering many subsequent awards, Tilak’s work has been published in many books, international newspapers, magazines and calendars. His photographs have also been displayed in many exhibitions in the Philippines and elsewhere; several of them are in fact in private collections in five different countries.

He published a book entitled
Saffron Robes: A Photographic Essay on Buddhist Monks. At the moment, he is working on three more photography books on different themes.

He now resides in Manila and has joined the country’s most prestigious Camera Club of the Philippines. In 2007, he joins the faculty of the Philippine Center for Creative Imaging.

Schedule and Venue
August 29, Wednesday
6:00-7:00 PM, PCCI Studio A and B
Introduction, briefing, short lecture, and slideshow


September 1, Saturday
6:30-8:00 AM: First shoot of the day
8:00-8:30 AM: Breakfast with the instructor
8:30-10:00 AM: Lecture at PCCI
10:30-12:30 PM: Second shoot of the day
12:30-1:30 PM: Working lunch, critiquing the morning shots
1:30-3:30 PM: Lecture at PCCI
3:30-6 :30 PM: Third shoot of the day until the sun sets; onsite discussion


September 2, Sunday
1:00-5:00 PM: Instructor supervised shooting of the final assignment


September 3-6, Monday to Thursday
Continuation of the final assignment at home.
Students can avail of instructor’s assistance by cellphone or email. Students can also avail of PCCI’s facilities to complete their assignment. Appointment is necessary.

September 7, Friday
6:30-9:00 PM, PCCI Studio B
Presentation of photographs taken by workshop participants and graduation.


Fee
PhP 6,750. Includes lunch and refreshments. Advance registration and payment are required.
