Elements - Photo Constructed Realities Exhibit by the Camera Club of the Philippines

presents

The Camera Club of the Philippines launches its 80th year with a photo exhibit in the Ayala Museum from August 16 to August 29, 2007. Thereafter in September and October the exhibit will travel to several SM malls in Metro Manila.
Entitled “Elements,” the exhibit will show images of the four basic elements of nature: Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water, as seen and created through the lenses of members of the club. Photography is being revolutionized with the development of digital and multi-media technology. Thus, aside from traditional hanging frames, the exhibit will use high-definition LCD monitors to project the photographic images.
Partnering with the camera club in this endeavor is Philips Consumer Electronics, maker of high-definition LCD monitors and other cutting-edge audio-visual and other consumer electronics. Philips’ “Ambilight” series is positioned as the LCD that gives the ultimate cinematic experience. This format frees the exhibit from the limitations of physical space since screens can project an almost unlimited number of images and can provide the visitor not only with a purely visual but an audio-visual experience as well. The exhibit is expected to demonstrate, among other things, how rich in variety and beauty the visions of individual photographers can be in interpreting these four elements of nature.
If you can’t make it to Ayala museum, the exhibit will visit various SM malls with the following schedule:
SM Megamall: September 2-7
SM South Mall: September 17-22
The Block, SM North EDSA: September 24-29
Mall of Asia: October 4-10
The Podium: October 15-20
