100 Photography Tips in 100 Days

Adorama Camera’s AIRC (Adorama Imaging Resource Center), which has been providing photographers with free, helpful how-to features and buying advice since 2003, has embarked on a new venture: 100 in 100: 100 photography tips in 100 days, which will started on September 10, will provide one brief but practical photography tip every day through December 18, 2007.

 

The tips are being prepared now by a world-class team of photography experts, including: Joe Farace, a seasoned pro who has written over 20 photography books; Jason Schneider, 40-year veteran photography writer and editor; Diane Miller, Adobe Photoshop power users; Bob Atkins, world-renowned optics expert; As well as editor Mason Resnick, contributor Jon Sienkiewicz, both photo industry veterans, and several surprise guest pro shooters.

 

While the articles will all be short, they will link to relevant, in-depth articles already published on the AIRC.

Philippine Airlines proudly announces the finalists of the 1st Philippine Airlines Photo Contest.

Last week, five judges selected the finalists and winners out of some 2,800 entries submitted by professional , amateur and junior photographers nationwide.

The 1st Philippine Airlines Photo Contest is the first and most prestigious competition of its kind this year, with winners from the Professional, Enthusiast and Junior divisions receiving over a million pesos in total prizes.

The 1st Philippine Airlines Photo Contest aims to promote Philippine ecotourism, as well as encourage photographers of all ages and skill levels to develop their talents. The competition is for the benefit of Philippine Airlines Foundations ecotourism projects, and is presented in partnership with EPSON and SM Supermalls. The Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IP Philippines) has prepared a series of activities for the month to celebrate the intellectual property rights (IPR) week slated on October 22 to 26, 2007.

With the theme “Great Idea! Intellectual Property Rights Week Celebrates Creativity”, the month-long calendar of events includes the Open House series of the office, activities that are open to the public such as IPR seminars, art competition, exhibitions, and storytelling sessions; international seminars on patent; training programs under the Intellectual Property Rights Protection (IPROTECT) Training and other activities.

In line with the Intellectual Property Rights Week Celebration (October 2007), IP Philippines invites you to the Basic Orientation Seminar on Copyright:

This pioneering course in the local photography scene is dedicated solely to the discussion of lighting concepts and techniques. It allows the participants to:

  • Learn the fundamental principles of lighting
  • Master the primary controllable characteristics of light
  • Become familiar with the different lighting tools used in the studio and on location
  • Master the systematic way of setting up lighting
  • Be able to “read” lighting conditions for best lighting design and exposure
  • Have a practical session applying the fundamental controllable characteristics of light in setting up artificial lighting
