Coinciding with World Food Day – observed annually on 16 October to mark the founding of FAO – the “focus on global food” contest works to support the day’s ethos to highlight the first Millennium Development Goal (MDG) to halve hunger and poverty by the year 2015.

Photo Op: Aliwan Fiesta Today

Saturday, May 3rd, 2008

Roxas Boulevard’s south bound lane from Manila Hotel to Vito Cruz will be closed to traffic today, Saturday, May 3, 2008 from 2PM to 9PM to give way to the Aliwan Fiesta Parade.

Delegates from various provinces will take part in this grand cultural showcase.

The streetdance competition has become a fierce battleground where color, pomp, and pageantry converge to define the Aliwan Fiesta as grassroots theatre at its very best. With this in mind, Manila Broadcasting has designated “Sayaw, Padyak, Indak” as the theme for this year’s Photography Competition.

You can check out more info on the photo contest at Anton Sheker’s Blogalicious.
