Photo.net.ph is looking for original, striking images of unique filipino events, actions, everyday life around the Philippines that capture what “Walang Ganyan sa States” means to you, something uniquely Filipino.

These images may reflect the wide variety of Filipino Everyday Life around the islands, We encourage entries from all regions, in both rural and urban settings. We expect to receive images that represent life that is uniquely filipino.

The “Walang Ganyan sa States” Photo Contest is open to all photographers; Professional or Amateur.

Prizes will be awarded as described below.

Canon Philippines launched the Canon Ambassador Program last June 2007. The Canon Ambassador Program is a rebate program geared towards photography organizations. The program aims to provide another way for organization members to help raise funds for their respective organizations by getting rebates whenever they purchase Canon products.

The Canon Ambassador Program is also the first of its kind as it only available in the Philippines and not offered in any other country. The program is a purely local effort launched by Canon Philippines and is not affiliated with any international program.

“The program reinforces Canon’s support of the strong photography community and local industry, as well as a way to encourage the photographers to continue supporting locally distributed products which are covered by Canon’s local warranty” says Ms. Tiffany Shau of Consumer Imaging & Information Division, Canon Marketing (Philippines).

Each Canon Ambassador Program covers a six (6) month period for the year. For the 2nd half of 2007, the winning organization was the Pinoy Phot0graphy Org, popularly known as PiPho. They were able to raise over P120,000 for their organization.

3. Size of Entries – 8 x 10″ (8R) - colored or black & white prints

Cosplay Competition

In line with the Photo Contest, there will be a COSPLAY competition which will be manage by Cosplay.ph, please visit their site for more info. This will be held on Sat and Sun in the afternoon.

Hands-on Black and White Developing Lecture

Jay Javier will give lecture/demo in our booth on how to develop black and white films using a Rodinal Type of chemicals. The lecture will also tackle tips on black and white photography. This is schedule on Feb. 2 and 3 from 12:00 noon till 2 pm.

Ramp Modelling with FujiFilm Finepix Digital Cameras

There will also be a model photo shoot in the Fuji-YKL booth. You could try out the  Fujifilm Finepix point and shoot digital cameras in shooting the models.

All About Lomo

Learn the latest craze in the industry, the LOMOGRAPHY. A lomo wall, lomo lectures and meet the lomographers of LOMO MANILA.

The first Valentine’s Day contest from Wacom Asia Pacific, the Wacom Valentine Photo Contest being held on the Wacom Asia Pacific Community invites us all Asia Pacific residents to test our ability to capture the theme “Love Story” on digital film.

The Wacom Intuos3 and Wacom Bamboo Fun pen tablets are up for grabs as prizes for the best photos, plus a Wacom Mentor Award for the best written photo retouching or photo manipulation tip.

No purchase needed and there is no entry fee.

Rules: All submissions must abide by the contest and submission rules of the Wacom Community. In particular, submissions may not contain any nudity, adult situations, violence or other obscenities, and must be original.
